IPFS Pinning

What is IPFS Pinning?

IPFS pinning is the act of selecting data to be stored and kept on one or more IPFS nodes. Pinning ensures that the data remains accessible indefinitely and will not be deleted during the IPFS garbage collection process.

bit.site Pinning Services

IPFS Pinning can be configured on locally hosted IPFS nodes. For .bit accounts, you can automatically get free pinning service without any configuration.

How does it work?

When you visit your.bit.site, the file is automatically pinned to a bit.site IPFS node. This guarantees that your file will be accessible to anyone who requests it. The file will remain pinned until you remove it from your account record.
